Get a style of cuisines from close to the environment and and hear to tunes with a worldwide beat this weekend in the Western Gateway.

The Environment Food items & Audio Festival returns to Western Gateway Park, 1000 Grand Ave., Aug. 25-27.

The event that commenced in 2005 in the Historic East Village with two dozen distributors moved to the Western Gateway in 2017 and now showcases more than 50 foodstuff distributors, music from all-around the globe and much more with the Pappajohn Sculpture Backyard producing the excellent backdrop. 

Who is doing at the World Foodstuff & Songs Competition?

Guests arrive at the start of the 18th annual World Food and Music Festival at the Western Gateway Park, 1000 Grand Ave, on Friday, September 16, 2022, in Des Moines featuring nearly 50 vendors from 27 countries from around the world as they provide live entertainment, cultural enhancement, and culinary opportunities for guests from September 16th through September 18th.

Latin music, audio from the afrobeat genre and basic rock covers are just a sample of what attendees can hope to hear during the weekend at the primary stage, which is situated around the John and Mary Pappajohn Instruction Middle.

Latin Grammy winners Flor de Toloache carry the appears of Mexican mariachi audio on Friday at 8:30 p.m. The all-female ensemble founded in 2008 is led by musicians Mireya I. Ramos and Shae Fiol. Prior to their performance, the Des Moines South American and Andean fusion music team Son Peruchos will just take the phase at 6:30 p.m.
